A toothbrush can't reach the part that matters
The mouthpiece has channels moulded to your teeth. That's the whole point of it, and it's also where residue collects overnight. A regular toothbrush head is shaped for the outside of teeth, not the inside of a narrow tray, so it skates over the surface and misses the grooves.
This one is shaped for the device instead. Narrow enough to get down the channels, soft enough that it won't scuff the plastic.
Rinse the device under the tap every morning and brush it properly every few days. That is the entire routine. No tablets, no soaking, no machine.

Do not clean your mouthpiece with boiling water, dishwasher cycles, bleach, or alcohol-based cleaners. Heat will distort the mould you took of your own bite, and harsh chemicals degrade the material. Cool or lukewarm water only.
